Is AccordNote really free?
Yes. The core product (unlimited notes, Chrome extension, Google Drive sync, web dashboard) is free forever. We plan to offer a Pro tier with AI-powered features in the future.
Where is my data stored?
Your notes live in two places: your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) and a hidden app folder in your personal Google Drive. AccordNote servers never store or process your note content.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
If you're signed in with Google, your notes are synced to Google Drive and will be restored automatically when you sign back in. If you're not signed in, local-only notes will be lost.
Can I access my notes on multiple devices?
Yes. Sign in with Google on both the Chrome extension and the web app at accordnote.com. Notes sync through Google Drive within about 30 seconds.
What AI platforms does AccordNote work with?
AccordNote works with any AI tool. Copy text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other source, then paste it into AccordNote. We plan to add direct integrations with AI platforms in the future.
Can I export my notes?
Yes. Export all notes as JSON or Markdown from the dashboard sidebar. You always have full access to your data.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. AccordNote currently works as a Chrome extension and web app. The web app at accordnote.com works on mobile browsers for viewing and searching notes.
How do I customize the keyboard shortcut?
Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser. Find AccordNote and set your preferred shortcut for 'Save clipboard to AccordNote.'
How is AccordNote different from Notion, Mem.ai, or Obsidian?
Notion is a team workspace. Mem.ai gives you 25 notes/month for free and stores data on their servers. Obsidian is local-first but has no built-in AI and no browser extension for AI chat capture. AccordNote captures directly from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini in one click, extracts insights with AI, and stores everything on your own Google Drive. It does one thing well instead of trying to be everything.
Why should I trust AccordNote over Readwise or MyMind?
Readwise has no free tier and is built for long-form reading, not AI conversations. MyMind is designed for images and bookmarks, not text-heavy knowledge. Both store your data on their servers. AccordNote is free, purpose-built for AI-generated knowledge, and your notes never leave your device and your personal Google Drive. We literally cannot read your data.
Do I need to leave my current note app to use AccordNote?
No. AccordNote is not a replacement for your workspace. Keep Notion for projects, Obsidian for your vault, Apple Notes for grocery lists. Use AccordNote specifically for capturing and extracting insights from AI conversations. It fills the gap between your AI chat and your existing tools.
